Why do you want to choose TOEFL?

Key Benefits of the TOEFL Exam

  • Recognition: Accepted by over 11,000 institutions in more than 150 countries, including top universities in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., and Australia.
  • Objectivity: It is famous for its strict grading system with very little bias.
  • Comprehensive: All four core language skills are tested.
  • Convenience: Available both at test centers and as the TOEFL iBT Home Edition to take tests from home.

TOEFL Format

Understanding the format of the TOEFL test will help you prepare better:

  • Reading Section (60-80 minutes) –  3-4 passages with 12-14 questions. This section tests comprehension and the ability to analyze academic texts.
  • Listening Section (60-90 min) –  It contains conversations, lectures, and classroom discussions with questions related to them. This is for checking your understanding of spoken English in an academic environment.
  • Speaking Section (20 minutes) –  The section contains six tasks where you are asked to respond on given topics that will be used to check your fluency and coherence of spoken English.
  • Writing Section (50 minutes) – Here, integrated and independent tasks are set forth to check whether you can put thoughts into a coherent structured form or not.

Scoring and Results

The TOEFL test is scored between 0 and 120 points. This score is divided into four sections that are all scored between 0 and 30. Results are generally available online within 6 days after the test date. Most institutions have a minimum score that varies.
